Welcome to TFAltModes

This website will provide articles and information on the countless vehicular alternate modes adopted by the Transformers over the years. Much of the content will likely be about the picture cars used in the live-action films, but I will also write about alt modes used by toys and media over what is now 40 years of Transformers history.

The first series of articles will focus on Generation 1 Optimus Prime's classic cab-over semi-truck alt mode, based on Freightliner's FLT model, I believe an 8664T in particular. This will cover the toy that possibly inspired the original Diaclone Battle Convoy, the history of the Freightliner FLT, and the differences between the Optimus Prime toy's truck mode and the real.
